Problem Space
The Northside neighborhood in Cincinnati has a long history tied to the buildings, streets, and landmarks that shape the community. While longtime residents hold memories connected to these places, much of this history is difficult to access. Photos and stories exist, but they are scattered across a few books, buried in Facebook groups, or shared informally among residents. Without a centralized place to explore this history, many residents remain unaware of the stories around them and struggle to connect with the neighborhood’s past.
Design Solution
This digital archive centralizes the neighborhood’s history, collecting stories, photos, and details about both existing and lost buildings so residents can easily explore the past around them. By connecting people with the history of streets and landmarks they see every day, the site helps strengthen community identity and allows residents to engage more deeply with the neighborhood they live in.
