These challenges are rooted in superstition, media representation, and even practical barriers such as the difficulty of photographing black animals. Over time, this has created a pattern where black pets are often overlooked.
Design Solution
Lighting the Shadows is a campaign kit developed for animal shelters to help reframe the way black pets are seen by prospective adopters. Centered on empathy and education, the campaign creates an engaging experience that encourages adopters to look beyond appearance and connect with animals on a deeper level.
