Objects of Memory
LOCATED ON 5000 LEVEL
Objects of Memory is a narrative collection that creates connection through personal stories and tangible memories
Problem Space
In a fast-paced culture, young adults hold onto objects that carry personal meaning, yet often have limited opportunities to pause and reflect on them. As they navigate memory, identity, and emotion, these objects remain deeply significant but are rarely revisited or shared, making it harder to process experiences or connect with others through meaningful, shared stories.
Design Solution
Through interviews, nostalgic photography, and object flat lays, Objects of Memory inspires others to cherish their own keepsakes, share the stories behind them, and find connection through the memories of others. The book features eight interviews, each focusing on objects collected over time. Image distortion throughout visualizes the abstract nature of memory. The 88-page book is divided into three sections: Remembering a Person, Holding on to a Place, and Capturing a Moment in Time.
