Cincinnati is a city rich with history and culture, possessing many historic landmarks, locations, and structures to match. The Cincinnati skyline that was once dotted with towering spires, elaborate steeples, and stretching steps has slowly been lost and forgotten due to new construction and neglect. Fortunately, the legacy of many of these historic landmarks has been preserved through the work of Caroline Williams.
Design Solution
The Queen City - Mirrored Landmarks of Cincinnati aims to showcase the history and legacy of the Cincinnati of the past. Sketches Caroline Williams created over eighty-five years ago are pictured alongside photographs of the same locations in 2026 to highlight the legacy of these historic and forgotten landmarks. Accompanying descriptions emphasize the cultural impact of the landmarks that have unfortunately been largely forgotten in a fast-paced modern world—and uncover changes that have occurred around the Greater Cincinnati Area.
