Problem Space
Music has continuously evolved over the ages, and genres have been thrown into a blender more than ever. Metal is one such genre that has been blended, and broken off into so many subgenres. People get confused, and even argue about what is, or isn’t Metal even though we all love music. We need to be celebrate music for its differences as artists continue to experiment, and expand their sound. People just want to share their favorite bands, and of course look at their friends when they listen to a track and say THIS IS METAL.
Design Solution
Each issue of this publication brings attention to one Metal subgenre, it’s history, sound, and the bands that fall under it’s umbrella. By highlighting one subgenre per issue, it allows the reader to completely engage with one subgenre story, and a select set of bands. Each publication is like a concert. The first section is the hype music with subgenre history, and it’s sound. The second section features the opener bands that we all love. Finally, the last section features the headliners.
