USPACE is a cafe third place that focuses on building community and reigniting the true meaning of third places
Problem Space
Young adults lack a space outside of their work, school, and homes where they can find a community and a place to study. The frequency of true third places have slowly begun to decline in the past years due to capitalistic greed and small, local cafes who can’t keep up with the rising prices to run a business without having to charge customers to stay in a space, rather than just letting users simply exist.
Design Solution
Through the use of compelling branding across social media, in-store graphics, and intentional color, USPACE aims to create a welcoming environment for customers of the space without the need to constantly spend money and become a true third place. Meanwhile, holding community events that promote socialization between new individuals and remaining accessible to users at all times throughout the day.
